Partner is a Canadian indie/pop punk band that gives off some awesome lesbian Weezer vibes.  90's grunge riffs, catchy hooks, wholesome lyrics.  Pretty sure the song "Play The Field" won them a Canadian songwriting award, and that's 100% deserved.

Bloom - Past Tense

 

Bloom is a melodic hardcore band from Australia.  They take a more 90's screamo/emo approach to their sound, rather than the technical metal route.  The vocals are top notch and probably some of my favorite to date.  Excited to see future releases from the southern hemisphere.

Jessy Lanza - Pully My Hair Back

Jessy Lanza is a Canadian artist making minimal casio beats pop like a chill version of Junior Boys (another Canadian gem).  Catchy synths, minimal and well layered beats blended seemlessly with her soothing voice.

Louis the Child & Whethan - Honey

Here we have a collaboration album between 3 Illinois producers. Whethan is a solo producer and Louis the Child is a duo, both coming from around the Chicago area.  This EP reminds me kind of TNGHT mixed with Tanlines.  Electro pop, future bass, house, dancey fun times are what this will bring you.

Chkbns - Autwik

Chkbns are a doom pop, goth pop, darkwave whatever you want to call it, trio from Saint Petersburg, Russia.  They've been making music since about 2011 have a couple of EP's and a full length out there.  Think of them like chvrches, but darker.  The track Belong has steadily made it into playlists of mine.

Kokoroko - EP

Kokoroko hail from London, and are an 8 piece ensemble formed in 2014.  They are creating jazzy afrobeat jams with vibrant, smooth brass instrumentation, and groove heavy bass.  Their ability to transition from the heady riffs to the lively jazz is well executed.

Tosca - Opera

Tosca is an Austrian electronic duo formed in 1994.  They are responsible for making chill, groovy downtempo jams.  The album here came out in 1997 and is their first full length.  Great tunes to relax to, as well as low key bounce to.
